Things To Do At Navy Pier In Chicago!

Navy Pier is easily a place you’ll want to visit over and over!

There is one place you have to visit if you ever come to Chicago. And for those living in the city, there is one place that never gets old. Navy Pier.

After I moved to Chicago 3 years ago, I came to Navy Pier because of a Groupon I had purchased for the Fun House Maze. That was my first out of many visits to Navy Pier. Navy Pier has a lot to offer, even though it is a rather small tourist attraction compared to other tourist attractions.

On this particular visit to Navy Pier, I went with my boyfriend and some friends that were visiting from Las Vegas. We started off inside, and we walked through the Family Pavillion. This Pavilion has a lot to offer. Lots of shopping and small Kiosks. There was a vendor selling handmade things, and I bought this cute little bag that I now use to carry all my stones and mala beads in. Best of all, it only cost 5 bucks!

As we walked further inside, we came across this huge, cool LED screen that reacts when you walk in front of it. You could see your reflection in it through the colors, if that even makes sense, LOL. My boyfriend had fun with that one. He was right there with all the kids, walking and running from side to side.

The food court has many options for everyone. There’s healthy food, greasy food, big burgers, pizza, vegetarian and vegan food, and so much more. We walked around for a bit inside before we stepped outside. If you walk further back into the pavilion, past all of the food, you can find an awesome little fun house. It’s a maze with a lot of cool rooms to explore. There are also some competitive games outside of the maze. I have been to the fun house twice and it’s always a good time. It will keep you entertained for at least a good half hour to forty-five minutes.

After walking around, we walked outside to check out the awesome view. My friends were having a great time soaking in all the sun and great views. This view is always so breathtaking, even in the wintertime.

Navy Pier is a great place for couples to have day dates. One of the restaurants outside has regular live music playing during the summertime. The water is also very calming. I personally love being around water.

There are also a couple of rides. They have flying chairs, a giant ferris wheel, and boat racing for the kids. The flying chairs are fun and really popular with all ages.

The Ferris wheel is fun too but the only thing I don’t like about it is that it’s shared. You can’t ride alone, they pack you into a pod with other people. I believe each pod holds 6 people. It’s not that romantic if you are only with your partner instead of a group of people.

After walking around for a bit, we walked back to the front entrance of Navy Pier. The front was just as lively as the inside.

Out front, you can find Polk Bros Fountain and Plaza. It includes a huge water fountain that turns on during the summertime. It has multiple, programmable water jets. During the wintertime, it turns into an ice rink. I have yet to play in the fountain, but I really enjoy watching the kids play.

So, there you have it. I will most likely visit again in the wintertime and get into whatever is going on during the cold season. I highly recommend you visit Navy Pier if you’re ever in town. If you live in Chicago already, I hope this inspires you to rediscover all that Navy Pier has to offer this awesome city.

My friends and I had a great time visiting Navy Pier. If you plan on visiting or if you’ve already been to Navy Pier, let me know in the comments below.

Yes! It’s still a great place to go even if you’ve been there before. I’ve been there so many times, and I always have such a great time!
