Vlog: A day at Six Flags Great America

I just want to fly like Superman and be a kid again! Six Flags Great America, here we come!

I went to Six Flags and had a blast! Anytime I want to get away and pause my brain from all the things I have to handle on a daily basis, I take myself back to a child-like state of mind and do something completely relaxing…like going on a bunch of rollercoaster rides that will have my stomach twisting and turning, LOL.

My boyfriend had just gotten his new car and we wanted to celebrate by going on a mini road trip about an hour and a half away to Gurnee, IL. Another couple outing!

Going to theme parks always makes me go back in my memories and remember the times I would go to the parks as a kid. I literally would have no other care in the world for anything other than to get on the rides, scream and laugh my head off, and eat some good food. Check me out with my brother (RIP) and my dad when I was only 10 years old. LOL, I was a tall 10-year-old. This was at Six Flags in New Jersey. This was actually the first time I had ever gotten on a rollercoaster ride. I remember screaming, “Oh Sh*t!” all throughout the ride and wondering if my dad was going to smack me afterward for cursing (he didn’t, hehehe).

It actually helps me to approach my everyday problems a little differently after I take these types of trips. I feel like sometimes I might overreact or just dwell too much on something. Learning to just let go of the constant need to control everything around me and let things be, the way I used to do when I was a kid.

They’ve been unveiling new rides every season since I signed up for the membership and they’re keeping the park open now through Thanksgiving. That was unheard of before.

We have never been to Six Flags. We need to include it on our list of places to take the kids – and we’ll make sure to secure all phone!!

It’s really hard not to have fun and a sweet escape at an Amusement Park. I can’t wait until my kids are a bit bigger and we can head to Six Flags!

I love the idea of how these trips give you a different perspective about the need to let go of things. Definitely something I need to work on!

Yes! Learning not to fuss over the things we have no control over and just go for the ride. It’s always something worth working on for the sake of peace of mind.
